McCarthy Bats Season High .471


Receives Local Honors

The reaches of the DCBA extend to the state of Florida, where high school senior Conor McCarthy led the Saint Stephen's Falcons with a .471 batting average for the season. McCarthy also posted five home runs and a whopping twenty-six steals! The following is an excerpt from the Bradenton Herald, which recently named McCarthy to its 2009 All-Area Baseball Team.

Position: Outfield

To his credit: McCarthy led the Falcons with a .471 batting average, five home runs and 26 steals. McCarthy, who is also a pitcher, helped lead Saint Stephen's to the Class 2A-District 11 title and a spot in the Region 3 quarterfinals.

Fast fact: McCarthy's favorite movie is "Boondock Saints."

What's next: McCarthy is headed to Johns Hopkins University to play baseball.
